Who Are You Seeking?
Jesus said, seek first God’s Kingdom and Righteousness!
Jesus, God’s righteousness is who we are to seek! He came that we have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). Have You ever asked yourself what an abundant life looks like? Well, I ask myself that question often. Not that I am subject to forget, but with the asking, I invite the Father to show me more of Jesus.
Ask Father God for What You Want!
He is the Savior of the world. God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Bearing that in mind, my Father wants me to have more I recall a story in the Old Testament where King David he saw a woman and decided he wanted her.
God’s Prophet Reveals the King’s Indiscretion!
The Prophet Nathan came to King David and shared a story with the king about a rich man and a poor man. The rich man had much, but the poor man had only one little lamb, which he loved and treated as a family member. A traveler came and inquired of the rich man’s flock, but he took from the poor man preparing his lamb for the traveler. Although this tale has many sides, I want to focus on what the Lord said to King David through the Prophet Nathan.
God Wants to Give Much More!
After hearing the narrative, David became angry about the man that committed the theft, and Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “I anointed you, king, over Israel and delivered you from the hand of Saul, I gave you your master’s house and wives into your keeping and gave you the house of Israel and Judah, and if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more” (2 Samuel 12). Notice the Lord didn’t just say more, but much more, which is extra over the increase.
Think about Your Position in Christ Jesus!
“Meditating on this truth always puts me in a place of asking Father God for whatever I want! Since Father God is a man that said to King David that has committed evil in His sight,” I also would have given you much more!” Indeed, I can make my request known since I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21 and Philippians 4:5-7). “Meditating on this truth always puts me in a place of asking Father God for whatever I want! Beloved,
The Lord of King David is our heavenly Father; delight yourself in Him, He loves you, and He wants to give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). Ask God for what you want! He would like instead that you ask Him than try to get your wants or needs met by some nefarious means society can offer that carry horrible consequences.
Trust God!
