Who are you hearing?
Is it your family, friends, or the sea of social media influences? God said, hear Him, His beloved Son, in whom He is well pleased. Peter thought it was a noble thing to say to Jesus; it is good that we are here. Let us make three tabernacles, one for you and one for Moses, one for Elias. While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud appeared, and a voice came out of the cloud saying, “This is my beloved Son, hear Him!” not them! For God to intervene in Peter speaking to tell him listen to my Son means that’s what He wants all to hear (Matthew 17:3-5). Throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus demonstrates God’s will towards man. It’s a spirit of love, family, and sonship.
To start with, God so loved that he gave (John 3:16). Jesus came to reveal the name of Father in John 17. In John 17, Jesus is praying for Him time had come. In verse 6, Jesus says, I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. The name Jesus came to reveal was Father. Hear the Father through the Son, Jesus!
Not Moses and the Ten commandment or Elias and the prophets. Jesus said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but fulfill” (Matt.5:17). Jesus came and fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law. Only God could’ve saved man, and only Jesus could wipe clean the sin debt of Adam. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one (Adam), much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ, (Rom. 5:17). Hear Him He Died For You!
God loves you!
Jesus is Lord!
