What Thoughts Are You Owning?
Thoughts are an Anchor!
The Holy Spirit used Kenneth E. Hagin many years ago to introduce me to the Lord Jesus Christ. His teachings anchored my soul to the things of God. There are a few of his sayings that are still with me. One is, “It is the inside man that permits the outside man to do what he does.” The other is, “You can’t stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop them from building a nest,” both speak of your thought life.
Give Attention to the instruction of our Father-Proverbs 4:1
Give Attention to My Words-Proverbs 4:20
The inside man, that part of man that governs his responses, in its unconnected state void of God, is always fleshly. The sins of the first man, Adam, brought a pandemic of sorts upon humanity till God sent His grace, the Lord Jesus Christ, to reconcile man that sin separated.
Do You own the Thought? You are reconciled to the heavenly Father!
The second thing Kenneth Hagin would say about the bird flying over your head, thoughts will come, but you don’t have to allow them to take up residence by building a nest. The nest allegory is interesting because a nest is a birdhouse. Protecting the bird from predators while it lays its eggs, breeding more of what it is! Establishes itself in your mind, consuming the idea brought by the metaphoric feathered friend repeatedly giving birth to its fruit. God promises to keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3).
Do You own your Thoughts?
The lingering Thought of what you just viewed on social media has entered your eye gate and, at your sharing, passes into your ear gate, making its way to your heart. By your mouth, you give Attention to, and by your mouth, you take hold. Jesus said, “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words, you will be condemned (Matthew 12:37).
How do we take Thought?
Jesus said, “Therefore take no thought, saying. (Matthew 6:31 KJV),” We give birth by uttering phrases from the reservoir of our imaginings. Again, Jesus ties the words to the imagination when He said whoever looks to lust has already committed in his heart (Matthew 5: 28). Although Jesus was speaking about adultery, the direct tie to the eye gate, heart, and imagination is evident.
Thoughts Hold Together Faith’s Imagination!
Imagination and faith bind together the substance of the positive expectation of the things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1). Hebrews 11 is a picture book of the fruit of the imagination of the ones that are righteous by faith; remember Abraham believed God. It was accounted to him for righteousness (Romans 4:3). We beloved are righteous because of the finished works of Jesus Christ at the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21); there is no surer position than in the shed blood of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior.
Anchor Yourself in Christ Jesus!
Be anxious for NO-thing! Believe that when you pray, make your request known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus our Anchor (Philippians 4:6). Whatever your petition is to the Father is less than what He has already given.
Beloved,
Own your position in Christ Jesus!
Take possession of all that He died on the cross for you to have!
Personalize all of God’s promises for you!
Dwell in the secret place of all Mighty!
Own God’s thoughts of love for you!
