What is your self talk?
Who does your inside voice glorify God or the Devil? If it glorifies God, it speaks about your position as the beloved and all you are and have in Christ Jesus. If it’s praising the Devil, it reminds you of all you haven’t done, and what you have done that wasn’t so right! Whatever we give thought to will govern our life and body. God’s word put it best, as He (Jesus) is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17) thinking about Him is health and wealth. To see Jesus’ personality in full effect, look to the gospels to know the rhythm of the grace of God in Matthew He is King of the Jews (Matt. 2:2). In Mark, He is the tireless servant; He came preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14). In Luke, Jesus is the beloved Son of God (Luke 3:22). In John, Jesus is the lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world ( John 1:29). All Jesus is is love! All He shows is the goodness of the Father!
Reminding yourself daily that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (Cor. 5:21 KJV) and that He (Jesus) paid your sin debt at the cross (John 19:30) means you are God’s beloved. The idea that Jesus bore all my sin debt at the cross means I can rest in Him. He that is entered into rest, he also ceased from His works, as God did from His (Heb.4:10 KJV) God rested on the seventh day, right! How much more we, His creation, need to rest!
Is your heart restful or restless? The word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Heb. 4:12). Father God always has good things to say to you. His words, although they are sturdy and sharper than a laser, they expose our innermost desires. Are we resting in things or people? Cursed is the man that trusts in man and makes flesh his strength (Jere. 17:5). These words of God came through the Prophet Jeremiah addressing Judah’s sins, although these words weren’t addressing the church they are applicable. We become restless when we attempt to direct and commandeer our lives, casting God out of the picture as if we know better then Him. Jesus said, don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? He said, look at the birds; they neither sow nor reap, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matt. 6:25-26)The answer is yes! We are He died for us!
God loves you so much He sent Jesus to reconcile us to Himself (2 Cor. 5:18) He was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing our trespasses against us (Heb. 5:19) so much love for us wrapped up in these verses, God loves you!
