Want To Enter God’s Rest?

Beloved, God loves you!!!!

God wants you to enter His rest! In Hebrews 4, the Apostle Paul talks about how to receive the preached word of God that it must be mixed with faith, for it is by believing you enter God’s rest.

Rest is Holy Spirit-directed activity!

God Ended His Work

For he who enters God’s rest will cease from his work as God did from His, Hebrews 4:10. God rested, but man doesn’t as if we can do more than He did in six days. Man’s definition doesn’t give a picture of what God’s rest looks like because it’s a rest on the finished works of Jesus Christ at the cross. God’s best for you! But hearing about the finished work isn’t enough; you must mix your faith with hearing.

You must Believe in Jesus!

God placed man in a finished work, the Garden of Eden, where He came and fellowshipped with the man (See Genesis 1-2). God spoke into existence a paradise for His creation; when He was done, He rested. In the New Testament, He sent His Son to reconcile the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:18), and in Him, we must believe to enter God’s rest of our salvation.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved

Joel 2:32 ESV

God’s Word is Alive

Paul says, let’s be diligent to enter God’s rest unless we fall into disobedience. Is this to say unbelief is disobedience? That sounds like it! The word of God is alive, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing the division of soul and spirit and joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

Look to Jesus, our High-Priest

When God spoke, there was an immediate response to the power in His words. And man was created in His image; when man fell into sin, he took all of creation with him. His words became tainted. But they were still powerful! God sent His Son Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, that can sympathize with our weaknesses so that we can go boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:14-16). Beloved, there is no time you pray that the Father doesn’t hear you!

Trust Him Who Knows Everything!

Sure, you may be thinking or saying I got some unanswered prayers, but unanswered prayers don’t mean He didn’t hear you. An unanswered prayer could mean He loves you too much to see you destroy yourself or someone else you both love. Remember, nothing is hidden from His sight; he knows all things (Hebrews 14:13). God loves you more than you can imagine; he sent His Son! His very best!

Jesus said It Is Finished!

In John 19, Jesus is whipped for you, a crown of thorns is placed on His head, and a purple robe is put on Him to mock Him saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” Then He is crucified. The last act of the sour grapes is to release the believer of the generational curse (See Numbers 13:14). Jesus, the Son of God, endured all this for your eternal salvation.

Beloved,

May you enter God’s rest and embrace His best Jesus as Lord!

In Jesus’ name!
