God raised Jesus to represent you! 

2 Corinthians 5:21

Election day! People are vying for political positions at various levels of the government, most making false promises and lying to their opponents to gain a momentary moral advantage. As I thought about these things, my mind went to Jesus and His love for man. A mere man cannot raise a man to represent him righteously; he doesn’t have the power, no matter what his good intentions may be. Only God has the power to raise man (1 Corinthians 6:14), and all authority is ordained by Him (Romans 13:1).

God’s Mercy Raised Jesus for Us

Jesus is the man God raised for our representative. He is all power! To stand before Him, who created heaven and earth, and seated Him, Jesus, in His right hand. Far above all principalities and power, might and dominion, and every name named in this age and to come (Ephesians 1:7,20-22). Jesus sits at the right hand of all power, and we have redemption through His blood.

 Jesus God’s System of Salvation 

Jesus is God’s system of mercy and grace manifested in the flesh for us! His blood is the forgiveness of sins. For a moment, meditate on that; Christ died for me! We didn’t ask Jesus to lay down His life for us; He didn’t campaign for the position of Savior, deliverer, redeemer, or advocate. But His position is for all eternity.   

God Wants All Men Saved

The system of representatives man created cannot give man peace; no politician was designed or called to solve the world’s problems. We have a plan given to us by God, His word, His voice, and His will. God wants us to pray for all men, kings, and those in authority to lead a quiet, peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. God said this is good and acceptable in His sight, and He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

Curse is the man that trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh, and whose heart turns away from the Lord.

We Must Have Conversations with Our Heavenly Father 

God calls men, but He doesn’t relieve them of their will. Man must talk to the Father! Without God, man will blow up, but with God, through prayer, man can come to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:14). To come to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ is a relationship with Him in the Father. No association or affiliation in the natural can supersede our position in Jesus Christ. We are members of His body (1 Corinthians 6:15).

Members of Christ

When the Apostle Paul called us members of Christ, he spoke about the sin of sexual immorality. He admonished the believers at Corinth and reminded them of their position in Christ: he who is joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with him, for you were brought with a price. So, glorify God in your body. Now, if our position in Christ is based on not sinning in our flesh, don’t you think God would have used Apostle Paul to curse the members at Corinth? Beloved, the best position to be in is a member of Christ Jesus!
