The person of The Heavenly Father!
Trust Him that created You!
Some years ago, I listened to the NIV version of the Bible and read along. The idea was to download God’s word into my heart and mind simultaneously. The process took a little over a year. Father God became a person in my heart and mind during that time; His love for Israel and His frustration with their spiritual adultery gave Him personhood for me. In all my years of attending church, God wasn’t a person but a faraway, divine entity waiting for me to mess up to destroy me. The revelation of God being a person moved me to acknowledge His Lordship with joy and gratitude; I saw the grace of God.
Seeing the Lord God as Father!
Father is a family term made so by the blood of Jesus. Christianity became a relationship and not a religion. Unlike a faraway, angry God, it’s difficult to disregard a loving Father. The law needed to be revised! It was cold and inflexible, and God sent His only Son (John 3:16). Tithing isn’t a duty but something I get to do! It’s a relationship thing! I get to partake of the Lord’s supper! These activities are a part of my love relationship with the Father. I get to claim all the promises given to me through the blood of Jesus Christ. He died for me as me (Romans 5:8).
God sees the believer in Christ!
2 Corinthians 5:17
The reality that God gave us His Son, Jesus, didn’t make us infallible. When we come to God, He sees Jesus and not us. This means I can go boldly to the throne of grace in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). It is a relief to know that I don’t need to be perfect because Jesus is my perfection!
Jesus, Our Truth!
Best described by Jesus Howbeit when He the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak, and He will show you things to come (John 16:13). Think about that for a moment! No man can offer that kind of security! But God can and does! Imagine a loving father protecting you now and in the future. Only Father God can put you in the right place at the right time! Trust Him. He so loved that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16)
