Take Possession of Your Salvation

To take possession is more than speaking to receive your salvation. Most churches call the sinner’s prayer the invitation for Jesus Christ and all His anointing to come and abide. Allowing Jesus within is more than a standard bidding or hellfire insurance.

Think about this for a moment

When you take possession of a house or car, a few steps are involved: we sign paperwork and receive the keys. But that’s just the beginning; we put our personal effects and necessities in the car. We put pictures on the wall with possessing the house, change carpeting, or remodel the kitchen and bathroom.

God Said

Everything about man is a part of his original design. God created man and called him into being and spoke his existence. God said, “Let them have dominion and be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it (Genesis 1:26-27). So, what I’m saying is God created man to be an overcomer to subdue is to overcome. And when sin entered the relationship with God and man. After he sinned, man’s first response to God was to lie, hide, and cover-up, and death began for man.

Blood Brought Right!

What man forfeited was an eternity of constant fellowship with Father God. But God so loved that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish and have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus the perfect sacrifice, He knew no sin, in Him was no sin, but He died for my sins (1 John3:5). To embrace the fact Jesus hung on the cross for the world’s sins is the foundation of the relationship in Christianity.

Embrace Your Redemption

The heart of God is Jesus, and abiding in Him, shapes our desires, and we pray from those desires. Jesus confirms that when he said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you (John 15:7).” It’s not enough to receive Jesus as your Savior. You’ve got to prioritize Him. It’s a new relationship, and what do we do with a new association? We call them often, and we talk about random stuff. Well, guess what? Our bond with God is no different. It’s more closely to a family tie. He is your Father.

Abiding is Taking Possession!

Back to taking possession of your home, you move in, and there you abide. Jesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you (John 15:4).” Most of Jesus’ teaching sessions were with parables from an agrarian standpoint. Man is like land; he receives seed and produces behavior after the seed. Abiding can be perceived as a seedtime and harvest. Wherever you live is what you mirror. Jesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you.”

Take possession of Your Salvation by abiding in Jesus Christ!
