Stop Living in the Shadows

God never meant for man to be bound by laws but to be in a relationship with Him. In the beginning, when God created, He gave man dominion over all He made. Not only did God give man dominance, but He also fellowshipped with him. The communion shared between God and man in Genesis 1 and 2 illustrates how we were meant to communicate with Him. In Genesis 3, man was expelled from the Garden of Eden. There the first sacrifice was made for man’s sins: the Lord God made tunics of skin and clothed them, Genesis 3:21.

Without the shedding of Blood, there is NO Remission of sins

For the life of the flesh is in the blood. God said, “I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: the blood makes atonement for our souls, Leviticus 17:11. The atonement sacrifice in the Garden of Eden was a shadow of the perfect gift of Jesus Christ to come.

The Lord God Desires to Bless Man!

In the Book of Exodus 19 and 20. God brought the children of Israel out of slavery, but they began to feel they were equal to God. Moses came to the elders of the people, and they said all the words which the Lord God commanded him, then all the people said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do, Exodus 19:7-8.” So, what did God do for their arrogance gave them the ten commandments, but He also gave them a method of atonement. God told them to build an altar for Me, you shall make burnt and peace offerings, I will come to you and bless you, Exodus 20:24-25. With all that the people of Israel were doing, God still wanted to bless them.

 The Law and its Consequences

The strength of sin is the law, and the sting of death is sin (1 Corinthians 15:56), so the design of the law brings forth death Apostle Paul called the ten commandments the ministry of death (2 Corinthians 3:7). The ministry of death was never given to the New Covenant believer but to the children of Israel for their prideful rebellion. Again, for their arrogance, God was merciful in providing the altar to sacrifice unto Him, so He could bless them, which speaks of God’s heart toward man and His desire to bless them.

Old Covenant Shadows: The Law & Sacrifices

The law and sacrifices were a shadow of good things to come, not the very image of the things that made those sacrifices offered year by year to make those who approached perfect. Had that system worked, there would’ve been no need for a New Covenant, for the worshippers, once purified, would have had no more sin consciousness. In the shadows were a reminder of sins every year (Hebrews 10:1-3).

The New Covenant Substance is Christ Jesus

Jesus said, “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins, (Matthew 26:28). In the old covenant, man kept a sin consciousness although he was offering sacrifices; Jesus, after He offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God (Hebrews 10:12). Remember Jesus has no sin and in Him was no sin, so that through Him we might become the righteousness of God through Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).

No more sacrifices in Christ Jesus, He is a new and living way for us through His Flesh. In Him, we live, breathe, and have our being; we are His offspring.

Beloved, we no longer live in shadows!

Rest in Jesus. He is Lord!
