Stop Complaining, Child of God!
Your life is more than food and clothing!
Matthew 6:25
We often open a conversation with our friends or family about what is missing or wrong and how terrible the world is! Today, I became frustrated with my friend as she complained about her job, the crime rate, and home repairs. I listened quietly and began to think! Wow, we complain about the temporary creating a permanent state of ungratefulness. Who gets the glory for the negative?
The thief comes not but to steal, kill, and destroy.
John 10:10
Complaining Lets in Devastation!
According to a Stanford study https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/06/stanford-researchers-says-30-minutes-of-complaining-makes-you-dumber.html. it’s time to stop complaining, or even being complained to, for 30 minutes or more can physically damage the brain. So, listening or talking about the negative is destructive to your mental health.
Dependence on bleak!
Meditating on this business of complaining, I realized people, including myself, grumble about stuff that we pay to insure and that I also must add is temporary. Is God not more incredible than all these things? Of course, He is! But it’s challenging to see differently than our speaking, for we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), and how does faith come (Romans 10:17)? By hearing! In that context, we are developing confidence in the negative.
Jesus said, don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, nor your body what you will put on it. Is not life more than food and clothing?
Matthew 6:25
Do I listen to the rumblings of the present, the temporary, or do I take heed to the leading of the master Shepherd Jesus? He is the righteousness of God (Romans 3:21-26). He is the propitiation for our sin, not His own. When that becomes our consciousness, that He went to the cross and died for me, seeking Him will be the first whatever the endeavor, because apart from Him, we are lost now and for eternity.
Beloved,
No positive examples exist in God’s word for complaining (Numbers 11:1). Apostle Paul told the Church at Philippi, “Do everything without complaining and arguing (Philippians 2:14). In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:18). You can’t praise the Lord God and complain at the same time chose today! To praise instead of complaining! The seeds of change are in the words of your mouth.
