Speak The change you want to see
Every time God created, He spoke. When God made man, He said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness: let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and all the cattle of the earth and every creeping thing on the earth Gen. 1:26. However, in Gen. 2:7, The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul. It appeared when God spoke of man; fruition was yet to take place. In Gen. 2:7, God breathed into what He previously said. As God’s creation, we create by speaking as well! I ponder whether speaking is a form of breathing into our idea? Throughout the Bible, the power of speaking is displayed; The woman with the issue of blood, for she said, Matt. 9:20-21. The Centurion came to Jesus and said, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him? The Centurion said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed, Matt. 8:5-8. Jesus teaches we take, though, by saying, Matt. 6:31.
We give form to our emotions by saying!
Jesus said, do not worry saying, what shall we eat? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Matt. 6:31 KJV. According to God’s word, we produce our internal scripts; we take thought by our spoken words, and our emotions follow our thoughts. Our fellowship needs to be yoked up with the consciousness of other believers, 2 Corin. 6:14. Those who are conscious of the finished works of Jesus Christ at the cross. Not to say you can’t or shouldn’t talk to unbelievers because you must talk to and fellowship with unbelievers to win souls for the kingdom. We are all on assignment to increase the kingdom of God. But that fellowship should focus on Jesus the gift.
The fruit of our mouth
The words of our mouth need to be used to speak life. The Bible has much to say about our gift of speech. Proverbs 18:20 says A man’s stomach shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth. Does that sound like you can talk yourself into a bellyache? I think so! The words of a talebearer/ gossiper are like tasty trifles. They go down into the inmost body; Proverbs 26:22 kind of sounds like gossiping destroys the temple again. In Proverbs 21: 23 guarding your mouth and tongue keeps your soul from trouble. These words from the book of wisdom speak of soundness to our bodies from the words we speak. The gift of speaking requires the insight of God for proper use! To answer the internal scripts with what God says: when Jesus became Lord of your life, that confession made you the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus because of the finished works of Jesus Christ at the cross. Meaning you don’t need to be righteous because Jesus is your righteousness!
Respond To Challenges As Jesus Did!
Jesus responded to the devil by saying, Matt. 4:4 and 7, “It is written.” He didn’t proclaim His sonship, but the Father’s words. Daily declaring: You are the righteousness of God in Him, Christ Jesus (2 Corin. 5:21) is speaking to all parts of your body, mind, and life to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord. Speak the change you want to see in 2021 to the glory of God and the good of the church, in Jesus’ name, I pray! Be blessed!
