See God as Father

How you see God determines your relationship with Him. Do you view Him as a loving Father or a distant supreme authority ready to swat you, damning you to hell? But His word says, come boldly to the throne of God, Hebrews 4:16. To come boldly requires a level of confidence that is only given by the previous verses.

Jesus, Our High Priest

We have a great high priest passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God; let us hold fast to our profession of faith, Hebrews 10:23. The feelings of infirmities can touch our high priest; all points like us, yet with sin, so that we can come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace in time of need, Hebrews 4:14-16.

Jesus Christ, God’s Grace in Time of Need

He is our high priest and is acquainted with our grieves and sorrows. God knows all about you and sent Jesus to redeem you from sadness and pain. Concern yourself only with God who has given you an advocate and high priest.

Jesus at the Father’s Right Hand

Your high priest is set at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens, Hebrews 8:1. I challenge you to approach God knowing you are righteous in Jesus, 1 Corinthians. 5:21. It’s no disrespect to come to the Father with an assurance of faith that Jesus is your just ground, just as if you’ve never sinned. As Jesus is, so are we, beloved in this world, 1 John 4:17.

Jesus Came to Manifest God’s Name

in John 17, Jesus is praying for the believer. Jesus prays for the disciples and those that will believe through their word (verse 20), which sounds like the prayer of salvation in Romans 10:9 when we confess with our mouth and believe with our heart that God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead you will be saved. Look at that! Jesus prayed for the believer before they were a believer.

We have a heavenly Father that loves you so much that He sent His only Son to be in relationship with us, and the words of Jesus, “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me; and I in You; that they also may be one in Us.”

How do You See God?

I encourage you to read and meditate on John 17. The picture of God as Father takes on a form of oneness I cannot explain with words. Repeatedly Jesus says, “All Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they may be one as We are One. The final time before closing the prayer, He says, “I in them and You in Me; that they may be perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Beloved,

I pray that you take these words of Jesus as Father God’s heart for you. We may be made perfect in Him so that the world may know that God sent Jesus and love the world as He loves Jesus.

All God’s best,

Grace
