No Chance Encounters
Life has a way of giving you unsolicited lessons. Last week I saw a side of a person I considered that loved and respected our relationship. Being hurt by what I perceived, I prayed (before I fleshed out!)—waiting for my Father’s words to direct and soothe me. While listening to a gospel sermon on CD in my car, it kept saying error when it changed tracks somewhere between track 6 and 7; a little irritated, I kept pulling out the CD and reinserting. Feeling like I need to hear from my heavenly Father. Eventually, the errors caused the CD to stop playing, switching to the radio to play a man’s voice, singing, “Be strong in the Lord.” I thought Father God is talking to me! Or am I so desperate to hear from God? I stop the defective CD and listen to this song. Since I was unfamiliar with this artist, I needed to know who was singing. I shut off Bluetooth to ask, “Siri, who is singing this song.” I go to the apple app and purchase this song by Sidewalk Prophets, titled “The Words I Would Say.”
I listen to the tune several times. Father God was speaking to me through this tune. As I listened, I began to cry; Father God heard me say, “I was hurting.” It wasn’t a prayer as much as it was just sharing with Him my disappointment and frustrations. Pastor Joseph Prince says, “Tell it to Jesus!” He never leaves us, so talk to Him about everything (Heb. 13:5). While listening to the tune, a few lines spoke vividly, planting pictures in my heart about how much God loves me. God used the writers of this song to talk to me today. The lyrics Be strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6:10) and, Never give up hope (Psalm 71:14). You’re going to do great things (Jeremiah 29:11)! God’s got His hand on you (John 10:29)so, Don’t live life in fear (Isaiah 41:10); forgive and forget (Ephesians 4:32), But don’t forget why you’re here (Jeremiah 29:11); take your time and pray (Psalm 148:1-14); You said you were hurting (Hebrew 4:15), thank God for each day, His love will find a way, find peace in the Father!
How is it at that moment that song played on my radio? On an unselected radio station? The defective CD work for my good (Rom. 8:28) brought me to a divine moment. Father God met me right where I was—listening to the word being preached but not hearing Him for my moment. Being humbled by this intimate encounter with the Father, I felt so loved! I know there are no chance encounters of this sort in my life. Christianity is a relationship with your heavenly Father, and it is more authentic than any other relationship. It is a lifestyle of Christ’s consciousness. He paid the cost for all our sins (Galatians 1:4). You live knowing you dwell in the secret place of the most high (Psalm 91:1) at the Father’s right hand in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:20). He is our high priest, and He can be touched by our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15) 100% man and 100% God is Jesus! As He is, so am you in this world (1 John 4:17). Join the family of God. Take Jesus as your Lord, Savior, and High Priest of your life. God wants you to reign in life!
