My Citizenship is in Heaven!

Child of God, heaven is home!

2 Corinthians 5:1

As I delve into the pages of the Bible, I am struck by the profound truth that, as a child of God, our true citizenship is not of this world but in heaven (Philippians 3:20). This heavenly citizenship is not a fleeting status, akin to my citizenship in the United States, but a permanent and unchanging identity. Just as I never lose sight of my American citizenship when I travel abroad, I should always be conscious of my heavenly citizenship. This unique privilege fills me with a deep sense of security and reassurance, knowing it is eternal and unalterable.

Child of God, Citizen of Heaven!

Contemplating my heavenly citizenship led me to realize the sovereignty of the divine leadership, our Father God! In the economy of heaven, faith is the currency, far surpassing any paper notes of men. Just as each country has its currency, so does heaven. As a citizen of heaven, I live by faith (Hebrews 10:38). Just as the provisions and standards of America sustain me as a citizen of the United States in a foreign land, should my heavenly status be any less on earth? I am a child of God. Heaven is my true home!

Living on the Provisions of Heaven, in the Earth!

As a citizen of heaven, I am not just a part of a divine kingdom but also beautiful in form and appearance in Him as I radiate His love. This reflects the immense value and worth that my heavenly citizenship bestows upon me through the blood of Jesus Christ. In Him, I am not just a citizen but a cherished and valued child of God!

God so loved that He gave His only begotten Son!

John 3:16

Child of God, You Represent Your Father!

Representing Him shapes my response to the unpleasant or uncomfortable. Standing for my country and my Father can be paralleled in that being the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus, and being a United States citizen is unchanging. I can denounce my position in America, but my righteousness is based on the blood of Jesus Christ, which will never change! Now, unless Jesus can or will reverse the cross and its finished works, my position in Him is more significant than my citizenship in America, and in saying that, my conversation should reflect my Father. Not the temporary, as is my time on the earth, but the eternal; my citizenship is in heaven!

Don’t know Jesus? He is a prayer away!

Pray,

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord and Savior, now and forever. I believe that Father God raised You from the dead and that You are alive today at the right hand of God. Because of Your finished work, I am now a beloved child of God, and heaven is my home. Thank You for giving me eternal life and filling my heart with peace and joy!

Amen
