Being a man after God’s ❤️!

Being a man after God’s own Recently, while praying about personal challenges, a thought crossed my mind just because you can doesn’t mean you should! I thought! How so, Lord? Then came the thought, look at David!

David, a man after God’s own ❤️

David exemplifies, “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should!” David could’ve killed King Saul in the cave, 1 Samuel 24:4. When David cut off the skirt of Saul, he could’ve killed him, but he didn’t. David cited, “The Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the Lord anointed; Saul, regardless of his temporary state, and David being a man after God’s ❤️, Acts 13:22 refused to follow the dictates of his flesh.

David calls his enemy my Lord and king!

The book of 1 Samuel 24 shows how a man after God’s own ❤️ is demonstrated. David experienced a troubled heart because he cut Saul’s robe. David was distressed that King Saul was looking to kill him. Still, he saw Saul as his lord and king 1 Samuel 24:8. I can’t imagine having a person of authority seeking to kill me and not take advantage of a moment of vulnerability to eradicate them. However, the man after God’s ❤️ saw God’s anointed still calling him, my Lord and king!

The man after God’s own ❤️ sought not his own way.

1 Samuel 24:10.

The man after God’s own ❤️ honored what God anointed.

1 Samuel 24:6.

The man, after God’s own ❤️, persuaded his company of men not to harm the king.

1 Samuel 24:7.

The man, after God’s own ❤️, submits to the authority God has set in place.

1 Samuel 24:5-6.

The man, after God’s own ❤️, trusts in the Lord to make all things work for his good.

1 Samuel 24;16-17.

The man, after God’s ❤️, knows God will make his enemies be at peace with him.

Proverbs 16:7.

The man, after God’s own ❤️, knows that vengeance is the Lord.

1 Samuel 24:12.

Beloved,

David walked by faith and not by sight.

The man after God’s own ❤️ walks by God’s dictates, not fleshly urges.

Let God guide you into His best!
