Jesus Our Qualifier to God’s Heart

Father God always hears and answers our prayers, not necessarily to our specifications. Often, when our disobedience creates a situation of negative consequences: we cry out but also feel like I deserve this! But Lord! Help me! While He is working to give you the desires of your heart, He is continually working on your heart and those involved. There are steps involved in reaching God’s best; like in the story of Joseph, God gave Him a dream and brought that vision to past, Genesis 39-41.

Your Destiny is Tied to Another

When God tells you to do something, He’s not taking away from you; He’s adding to you; if He can get it through you, He will get it to you!

Steps in God’s Purpose for Your Life

The steps to getting Joseph from his father’s house to the palace of Pharaoh took several years. He spent time in jail because Pharaoh’s wife lied. He was then assaulted in prison for telling the truth. But none of that changed his destiny. Why because his future was tied to God’s people, the nation of Israel. When God gives, He’s giving for generations!

God Gently Leads

Some years ago, my Pastor said, “some of you, God has been speaking to you about writing a book.” I ignored it, thinking he was not talking to me! Then the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about my testimony gently. Throughout my life, He has been there carrying and protecting me! God created each of us with a purpose; our destiny is tied to winning souls for the kingdom of God.

On March 9, 2022, I posted a blog on one exploit of how God restored a lost investment, a situation that all started from disobedience and not putting my relationship with God first. I’m going to touch on some of the highlights from that post: About 26 years ago, I met a lady that called me her adopted daughter, and because my relationship with my mother was estranged, I adapted to the situation with a sincere heart. She was a financial advisor and a Christian. She encouraged me to invest money with her.

God gives an Inward Witness

On one occasion, she said I have an investment idea, I listened to her, but I felt compelled to say I shall pray about it! I got off the phone. Immediately after I ended the conversation, I began to pray, but before I could ask the Father, she called back and said, “You know I’m a Christian.” I said yes, of course; I know you’re a Christian. But I wondered why she was saying this to me. I didn’t sense I needed to invest any more money. But I did anyway! Out of a sense of obligation, relationship duties overrode the inward witness of the Holy Spirit.

Let Prayer and God’s Word be Your Leading

I didn’t pray about investing money with my godmother. But God’s word has a few verses in Proverbs to warn of pledging, which is allowing someone to use your credit. Proverbs 22:26 says, “if thou be surety for thy friend, thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,” and Proverbs 6:1-5 says, “if you are surety for your friend the words of your mouth snare you give no sleep to your eyes deliver yourself go to your friend and humble yourself.”

Some Many Years Later!

I receive a phone call from my godmother. She asked me, “Grace, how much do I owe you?” I said I don’t remember; she said, “you don’t remember?” I said, “No, I couldn’t live there,” she said, “Figure it out and give me your banking info so I can send your money.” I said, “Praise God!”

We conversed on the phone about our lives and kids and grandkids. She wired the money to my account. After she completed the wire transfer, she said, “well, my dear, I shall speak with you later. Bye.” The bye was so final, finishing a chapter in a bittersweet journey closed with the debt paid, not just forgiven.

God worked it out. Nobody else could pull off something of this magnitude, and all I did was pray and believe that He would resolve the matter. I overrode the witness of the Holy Spirit and made light of His written word, but He still brought my prayer to past. God’s provision is sure, and we can never qualify for God’s goodness because He gave us all we needed when He gave us Jesus Christ.

God never requires us to qualify for His grace!
