Greece
See Acts 17; see God’s love for the lost!
I’ve visited several ancient cities before Greece, Tokyo, and Jericho when I visited Israel. In visiting Jerusalem, I needed to see where my Lord and Savior was laid to rest in the garden tomb and to walk where He walked. But none has impacted me as this most recent trip.
God Sent Apostle Paul to Greece to Point Them to Him!
Greece caused me to think about my mortality! I have never considered it before. What is the legacy I’m leaving my children and their children? Ancient Greece had people with aspirations, dreams, and hopes. God thought a lot about them; He sent the Apostle Paul to preach the gospel of Christ Jesus to them. These people were just like us. They built houses, had children who taught them and believed in a superior power, so they had several idols called gods.
You can’t travel the roads of Greece and not see these little houses built on the side of the road to commemorate the death of their loved one that died there. But why mark these areas with houses and tombs as if they can or will abide them in the afterlife? The Apostle Paul called the Grecians a religious people.
Idols Are for Those That Don’t Know the Lord!
The Apostle Paul spoke of the objects of worship, but that they, the men of Athens, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him, the Apostle Paul proclaimed to them the God, who made the world and everything in it, He is Lord of heaven and earth and doesn’t dwell in temples made with man’s hands, He gives to all life breath, and all things, Acts 17: 22-28.
We Are God’s Offspring!
We are created in the image of Him (Genesis 1:27), He that made heaven and earth, and our breath of life came from Him. As His offspring let us endeavor to seek His will, I believe that is my legacy and the inheritance I’m leaving to my children, and their children is a live well live for Jesus Christ!
Beloved,
Join me in prayer:
Lord Jesus, give me your wisdom that I put You first. That You guide the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart.
In Jesus’ name
Amen
