God’s thoughts Toward You!

Yesterday I experienced the most fantastic thing, now I realize this event that I’m about to unfold could be perceived as a coincidence, but I don’t think so! As I was driving, I thought of my friend visiting from Florida. I didn’t pray, at least not in English. It was a thought, Lord; I hope I can see my friend before she leaves; it was a heartfelt conversation with the Lord all in my heart and mind. To keep me from calling, I began to pray in the spirit. See, I called and texted her with no response.

Coincident? Or Chance Occurrence?

I run my errands, not forgetting my thoughts, at least not intentionally, but praying in the spirit, not for her, but fellowshipping with the Lord. I stopped at my final store before going home, standing at the end of an aisle trying to decide if a product markdown was a good deal or not. When I looked up, there was my friend; it was a heartfelt desire to see my friend. We hugged for a very long time before speaking a word. Moved to tears, I immediately praised God. We exchanged words, and she promised to call, so we could do dinner or lunch before she went back home.

God Knows Your Thoughts!

Upon us parting, my mind went to does God know our thoughts. He would have to, I thought! The more I meditated on God, knowing my thoughts, I found myself studying one of the Psalms of David. Surely God knows my thoughts; He made me. He understands my thoughts afar off and is acquainted with my ways when there is no word on my tongue (Psalm 139:2-4). For He formed my inward parts: He covered me in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). You can’t lightly pass over He formed our inward parts, my inside; my mind, heart, and soul are God made, and He loves me so much He also gave me free will and respect my choices. Yes, I personalized God’s word to speak to me directly. God is my Father.

God cares about our very thoughts!

Listen to how God used David to describe the intimacy of His affection to His beloved creation. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! They would be more in number than sand (Psalm139:17-18). God has thoughts more than the number of sands! That is too wonderful for my finite mind to conceive. Have you ever attempted to count grains of sand? I haven’t, nor would I try. It’s a picture of His thoughts toward us that cannot be numbered.

I know the thoughts that I think toward You!

Says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Okay, since God has many thoughts toward us as described in Psalms 139:18 and Jeremiah 29;11 those thoughts are of peace, I endear to the Hebrew meaning of the term peace, shalom. Shalom doesn’t just mean peace; it represents harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare, and tranquility. All which God thinks towards us His children.

Child of God, God only wants good for you! He sent His very best Jesus Christ to save you; that’s His thought about you!
