God’s Battle Plan!
Get Before Him, and He will Direct You!
While watching a rerun of “Touched by an Angel,” one of the actors portraying an angel said, “The more you fight the devil, the more he gets to know you.” I thought about how so, Lord? And I heard, “Fighting involves exposure of your tactics.” Then the Holy Spirit caused me to remember, 2 Chronicles 20:15, the battle is not yours, but God’s.
So, Things Look Overwhelming!
In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat did what we all should do when we are faced with a challenge, set his face to seek the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:3-30). Along with seeking the face of the Lord, he and all his entourage proclaimed a fast. All of Judah, with their wives and children, stood before the Lord. Now, that’s a picture of support every man with their family were in attendance. Knowing they were powerless against the great multitude and didn’t know what to do, their eyes were on God.
Position Yourself and See the Salvation of the Lord
While standing before the Lord, Jahaziel, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the assembly spoke thus says the Lord, “Listen everyone: thus says the Lord. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you.” “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of the great multitude, for the battle is not yours,” but God’s said, “Tomorrow go against them, but you will not need to fight in the battle. O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed: go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you.”
The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent
Exodus 14:14
God’s Prosperity Goes Beyond Your Imagination
God gave them victory; all they did was assemble and position themselves before Him. The Lord God gave Judah and Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat success. So much prosperity took three days to collect the spoils, and God gave him rest. God made him prosperous financially and environmentally. King Jehoshaphat reigned for twenty-five years in Jerusalem, and he walked in the same way as Asa, his father, and did not turn aside from doing what was right in the sight of the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:32).
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
Isaiah 55:8
God’s Position is to Seek Him, Whatever the Challenge!
King Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, assembled from the house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors fighting against Israel, that he might restore the kingdom to Rehoboam. They trusted God and retreated from attacking Jeroboam (2 Chronicles 11:1-4). This fight was between brothers but watch what God does; He sends Shemaiah with His word, saying, “Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and all Israel in Judah and Benjamin saying, “Thus says the Lord: You shall not go up or fight against your brethren! Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.”
God’s position is to seek Him, assemble and pray and He shall provide direction!
There is Always More with God’s People
When Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came to make war against Jerusalem. Hezekiah gathered his people to encourage them, saying, “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the King of Assyria nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles (2 Chronicles 32:7-8).” King Hezekiah of Judah did what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God. In every work he began in the service of the house of God, he did with all his heart, so he prospered (2 Chronicles 31:20-21).
Beloved,
God’s battle plan for His people is to
seek Him and trust Him for direction.
Whatever the challenge, Father God
has victory for His own. Take the
problem to the Lord, seek His
face get His instructions.
Walk in Victory!
