God’s Appointment

I woke to the word predestination on my mind, and shortly behind that, the spirit led me to the book of Ephesians. I asked Father God to give me revelation as I was reading Ephesians 1. The first thing that stuck out to me was verse 1, Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God. Of course, God called Paul, Acts 9. This letter Paul wrote for the saints at Ephesus and the faithful in Christ Jesus (verse 1); as I read the faithful in Christ Jesus, I heard in my spirit the faithful, not the perfect. I thought God doesn’t require perfection. All He needs is that we accept Jesus Christ. Grace and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph.1:1) set the tone to receive the richness of every following scripture. Paul blesses God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Eph. 1:3).

My thinking was, wow! Because that’s beyond my imagination. However, it’s God that can and will form new ideas in me. He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and with blame before Him in love having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself for His good pleasure and His will. To the praise of the glory of His grace (Eph. 1:5-6). His grace is Jesus Christ. Jesus is the grace of God! God adopting me is His pleasure and will? Verse 5 says, “according to the good pleasure of His will,” To the praise and glory of His grace (Eph. 1:5-6). In Him, we have an inheritance according to the purpose of Him, who works all things to His will and counsel (Eph. 1:11). That sounds like all things work together for our good (Rom. 8:28), I thought! So I flipped over to read it. Then the Holy Spirit prompted me to keep reading. Who are called according to His purpose for whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:28-29). So my destination is known by Father God, as is my purpose. God created all things, and everything He made was good.

In the words of King David, for You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). God wrapped me in my mother’s womb. I think wow! God told the Prophetic Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; ( before he was placed there by his father?) Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5).” It’s not just David and Jeremiah born on purpose with a purpose; so were you! Imagine being known before you were born and loved so much! Your heavenly Father laid out everything for you; all you have to do is receive God’s gift, His grace, His son that my friend is salvation in Christ Jesus!
