God Wants His People Planted, Not Drifting
This morning I woke to these words from my Father God; I want my people planted, not drifting. As I wrote these words, I heard, if my people which are called by My name will humble themselves pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways. I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land (2 Chron. 7:14). Although He was addressing the children of Israel, this is still applicable today. 2 Chronicles 7 opens with King Solomon praising the Lord God and the Lord’s Spirit filling the place.
No Condemnation In Christ Jesus
Waking to God speaking to me is so much more than the few words He says. The previous verse may appear condemning, but not to the New Covenant believer. Why? Because of Jesus. When God looks at the New Covenant believer, He sees Jesus. Jesus bore all ours sin (1 Peter 2:24). God’s all is past, present, and future.
Planted and drift defined
Merriam-Webster defines planted: to put or set in the ground for growth. Planted is synonymous with establish and settle. The term drifting is defined as the act of driving something along. The Lord doesn’t drive; he leads.
The Lord leads!
The example in Psalms 1, the blessed man shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. That brings forth its fruit in its season. The Lord leads by the Good Shepherd, and the Good Shepherd is Jesus. He leads me beside the still waters and restores my soul (Psalm 23:3). Child of God, you are blessed whether you know it or not. God loves you!
God Wants His children planted!
God says, don’t turn away from Me, My words, My statutes, and commandments and serve other gods to worship them; otherwise I will pluck you up by the roots out of the land which I have given you and this house which I have sanctified for my name, I will cast out of my sight and make it a proverb and a byword among all nations (2 Chron. 7:19-20). God wants His children planted in His words, ways, and statutes!
God’s Heart Towards His Creation
The Father, creator of the heavens and earth, saying to His creation, don’t turn away from me. That’s a love that’s inconceivable to my mind—their so many expressions of God’s love and patience in the Old Testament. I can’t praise Him enough. God’s heart is not in destroying as you can see, He warned the people.
He sent a Savior
The Father sent His Son as Savior of the world (1 John4:14). And this Father and Son are one (John 10:30).” Imagine this! God sends you a letter (Prophets); you ignore it, then He sends another Letter (Judges), and you don’t open it, basically rejecting Him. One day He comes to your house, and still, we reject Him, but this time we write on the letter return to sender and nail it to the door. That’s what we did with the gift God gave us! We nailed Jesus to the cross!
But God Still Loves You!
He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
God wants you planted in Him in Christ Jesus!
