What is God doing this time of the pandemic? An excellent pointer of Jesus Christ, Joseph Prince, said in recent his sermon: The power of positive expectations “To see what God is doing, look at what the devil is doing?” Reverse it; then, you see what God is doing! This virus isn’t from God; there are no sicknesses in heaven. I embraced this reality today! For the child of God, this virus means a new strain of health and healing. The challenges this season brings are a blessing to the believer. In the Old Testament, when King Herod killed every child under the age of two in Bethlehem of Judea, a champion was born! Jesus Christ, our savior, was born. God warned the wise men, and He, God warned Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him” (Matt. 2). But when the wise men from the east came to the king—inquiring, “where is He King of the Jews?” The king summoned his chief priest and scribes to question them about Christ. Then he gathered his wise men to ascertain when the star appeared. The star, the wise men from the east, spoke of as being the indicator of the birth of Christ.

According to the kings’ estimation, it was two years from the time the wise men of the east appeared. He sent out an order to kill all the children under the age of two. Who would’ve thought during the murdering of all those babies? The savior of the world was moving in the shadows to safety! Another situation similar to this one is in the Old Testament as well. Moses was born during a time when Pharaoh ordered that every son who was born, shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive” (Exodus 1:22). If I were around during that time, I would’ve wondered what is God doing? But He was working behind the scenes. The beautiful child was hidden for three months. When his mother could no longer protect him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank. His sister stood afar off to know what would be done to him. Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. With her maidens walked along the river; when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. His cry aroused her compassion and said, “This is one of the Hebrew children.” Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “shall I go and call a nurse for you?” Pharaoh’s daughter said, “go.” Now, this is a beautiful illustration of how God will take care of His own. Pharaoh ‘s daughter sent the child to be nursed by its mother and paid her! Only God could pull this off! The best of both worlds nursed by his mother and exposed to the privileges of belonging to Pharaoh’s daughter. The God of Israel raised a leader during a time of murder again! (Exodus 2: 2-10).
The Bible serves as confirmation that God is working during this time of challenge. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Knowing these truths, I know my financial challenges are temporary, and my health is robust. I reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). Heaven doesn’t have any sickness, shortage, or lack! Only abundance! Reign in life believer through the one Jesus Christ!
