Authority Don’t Compromise with The Devil!

Last week I shared how the Holy Spirit spoke to me about authority at an unlikely moment. While watching a movie, I heard the term “Authority” more than once, which prompted me to continue viewing, looking for why I was apprehended by this movie script or the inward witness showing me more of Jesus.

Give me what I want, and I will leave!

The devil came there with an agenda for every murder/suicide. A note at the scene read, “Give me what I want, and I will leave!” So, the town was terrorized by one devil named Andre’ Linoge. The Constable shares with a fellow townsman the story where Jesus cast a legion of demons out of a man, Matthew 8:28-34. Yet the Constable didn’t think it should be shared with everyone. Maybe he should have, but the town was so steeped in fear till that information would have fallen on deaf ears.

The Devil Wants a Young Soul

So, when Linoges, the devil, stated that he would tell the people what he wanted. All but one was more than ready to give him what he wanted, regardless of what it was! The request? One of the children for a protégé. The proposal was accompanied by revealing his identity, showing his aged face and then his young face. The Constable kept saying, “We are making a mistake! We cannot give this man one of our children.” No one agreed with him, not even his wife.

Town intoxicated by Fear Gives Away Future!

After a 30-minute conversation, the town unanimously agreed to provide the devil with one of their children for devil training. The reasoning of these people is so commonplace, mirroring current society; one of the townspeople said, “Well, it sounds to me like he just wants to adopt a child,” the Constable stood up and said, “Have you people not seen what this man has done? Can you hear yourselves? I can’t believe we’re considering giving him one of our children!” The Priest of the town felt it would be best to give the devil a kid; he nodded in agreement.

No Logic in Fear!

The devil returns after the townspeople agree to give him a child, and then he tells them how the child will be selected. To add to the agony, each parent will draw a stone out of a bag. There are six white stones and one black, the parent that draws the black stone is the child I will take. Isn’t it an accuser to devise a plan to load up some parent with the idea of you selecting the wrong stone and then later come to you in your moments of solitude, “If only you could’ve been lucky enough to draw before someone else?”

Black Stone Protégé for the Devil

The Constable’s wife chose the black stone. Her husband had to be physically held down, but she spoke for both to their sons’ demise. Remember, the Constable was against giving a child to the devil, but his wife said before the townspeople, “Our son is a part of this; we have never shunned our responsibilities!”

Knowing Some Scripture Won’t Save You. But Knowing Jesus Will!

The Constable’s wife sacrificed their son. That evening destroyed many people, and the Constable, the only person acquainted with the Bible, left the island. No one in that town appeared to have had a relationship with the Lord. The movie speaks to the behavior and mindset of so many saints. Satan isn’t mightier than God. Remember, God made him also. Jesus, the Son of God, the victorious One, paid the cost. Satan no longer has control of the earth.

Jesus said, “All Authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth.”

Matthew 28:18

Satan Has NO Power!

The only power Satan has come through the believer relinquishing his authority; Satan can’t take what you don’t give! Like in the movie, Satan couldn’t just take a child he bargained for it, and they gave it to him.

Child of God, you are Positioned in Authority!

We walk in victory! Our authority comes from God almighty. We don’t negotiate with demons, and the past is just that days gone by; God isn’t looking at your history, so neither should you and the person that wants to remind you of where you came from; they don’t have the right, it’s covered under the blood of Jesus! You are the chosen, not the forsaken!

Beloved,

As Jesus is, so are we in this world.

He, Jesus, walks in authority, and so do you!

Greetings, nice to meet you!
