God Designed You to Walk in Authority!

(Part One)

Don’t Let the Temporary distract You from The Eternal

God created man to have dominion over every living thing that moves on the earth (Genesis 1:28). God put man in a place of authority, and how we fell is a result of a conversation between the woman and the devil, but man was there also. The man said nothing as someone talked to his woman. The woman being deceived and through the power of suggestion saw that the tree was good for food and would make one wise she ate and gave to her husband with her (Genesis 3:6).

Man, Loses Authority When He Listens to the Enemy!

One act of infraction has multiple consequences. In the beginning, God placed man in a finished work, but when sin entered, the man and his wife were expelled from God’s paradise. The evil between the man, woman, and the devil was an act of disobedience. But what also took place was a loss of authority.

I don’t often think about my authority as a believer. Although recently, I was looking for something to watch, and I happened to come upon a Stephen King movie that grabbed my attention, but it was classified as horror, which I don’t usually watch. But I followed my initial curiosity.

Watching Stephen King’s Movie Series: Storm of the Century

The Holy Spirit began to speak to me as I watched the devil act out in this movie. First, he murders an old lady. When he is arrested and locked in a jail cell, he uses his power of suggestion and deception to influence a man to hang himself. Then the devil does what he does best to accuse the brethren; he tells everyone of their past sins and indiscretions. All while watching this movie, I kept hearing in my spirit, “Authority.”

Customarily, after the movie’s opening, I would turn it off, but I kept hearing “Authority,” that hearing kept me watching and talking to the Lord while viewing this insanity. It turned into a teachable moment. As a child of God, I know I have rights and privileges. But I don’t always operate in a consciousness that I have the authority of Jesus Christ.

God Has Not Given Man a Spirit of Fear

These people in this town, called “Little Town,” had no authority over the devil, or so it seemed. He show-up this when the townspeople are gripped by fear of an impending snowstorm. Fear makes men prey because it works like an intoxicant. God only gives man a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, not fear (2 Timothy 1:7).

Satan Influences by the Only Power He Has; Suggestion and Deception!

Satan slipped into the garden of Eden, Genesis 3. Similarly, he crept into Little Town, killing and then condemning people of their past. The townspeople listened and felt condemned, amazed at how this stranger knew their sins. The devil operates in the business of familiar spirits; he’s not all-knowing; he listens to you talk.

There is no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus

Romans 8:1

Jesus Paid the Sin Debt for the World

One of the men assigned to watch the devil in the jail cell hung himself. The devil spoke not a word to him. The man became hypnotized as he sat and stared at this accuser of the brethren. The accuser can only be successful when the hearer doesn’t know the truth, meaning the prosecutor may be telling the truth about you, but the blood of Jesus Christ has paid for the cost for sin debt.

The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy

John 10:10

Storm of the Century-Satan’s Ways!

Everyone is distracted by the snowstorm. At the same time, the devil destroys the townspeople. One event at a time, by the power of suggestion and deception, with one plan to steal, kill, and destroy—first, shaking the whole town of any security. While killing its residents by their own hands, the final act was to destroy the town.

Next week I will conclude this blog post; in the meantime, you could view Stephen King’s movie: Storm of the Century in a consciousness of the finished works of Jesus Christ at the cross; as Jesus is, so are we in this world beloved, 1 John 4:17

Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth.”

Matthew 28:18

Thank you! I didn’t start this blog with a money-generating idea, but I want to build an audience. My passion is talking about Jesus Christ! Presently, I’m trying to figure out where God is taking me. I will prayerfully consider your ideas.
