Generational Wealth?

Financial or Spiritual?

While meditating on God’s Word, my thinking went to wealth and God’s idea and not mines! The scriptures describe Boaz as a man of great wealth (Ruth 2:1). But David, the great-grandson of Boaz, describes himself as a poor man and lightly esteemed (1 Samuel 18: 23). Question would a man of great wealth pass it on to the next generation? What happened?

Same God!

The Same Lord Yesterday, Today, and Forever!

Hebrews 13:8

What happened from Boaz to David? Was there a famine besides the one at the beginning of the book of Ruth? If so, how long did it last? However, I don’t believe it’s as important as who your Lord is during an economic crisis. Is it the Lord God who created the heavens and the earth, who made all things in abundance, or is it the Lord of the financial medium of that moment?

Generational wealth-Financial Responsibility?

As I thought about what financial wealth meant according to man and how it governs our attitude toward money, it seems to take on a role that should be reserved for the wisdom of God. Generational wealth can’t only be financial Responsibility because when passed on, it should continue to serve future generations. In saying that, I go back to Boaz, a man of great wealth, the great-grandfather of David, a poor man of low respect. Again, what happened? Or is the true definition of wealth more excellent than man’s notion of prosperity?

What is God’s idea of generational wealth?

My thinking was arrested by God, bringing to my remembrance! What did Jesus say? Wealth is a treasure not to be laid up on the earth, where (moth) insects and (rust) circumstances of environment, for example, famine, economic downturn. Don’t trust in man’s system of doing things, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither the circumstances of man’s systems nor insects break in. For where your treasure is there, your heart will also be (Matthew 6:19-21).

Generational Wealth

David is described as well-behaved and wise in all his ways and a man after God’s heart (1 Samuel 18: 5, 14, 30 and 1 Samuel 13:14). Is David evidence or symbolic of generational wealth? King David served the Nation of Israel for 40 years (1 Kings 2:10). I perceive as I was thinking these things: generational wealth isn’t financial, but spiritual it’s a legacy of love for God taught to future generations.

God’s Idea of Generational Wealth=Souls for His Kingdom!

God treasures souls for His kingdom, and His inheritance is in the saints (Ephesians 1:18). God adores people; they are His legacy, not the accumulation of things on the earth He made for you. That’s right! The earth was made for man (Isaiah 45:18). So why would accumulating stuff in the world benefit generations through the ages? If you pass financial wealth to people who don’t know God, they will fail to serve His purpose on earth. The only thing we can do for our heavenly Father is harvest souls for His kingdom. That’s generational wealth!

Parents bring up your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:4

Beloved,

God’s ideal of wealth needs to be our desire. Let’s teach our children!

And grandchildren about the love of God and the finished works

of Jesus Christ at the cross, that’s generational wealth,

God’s inheritance!
