Discouraged! Trust God!
Jesus said, don’t worry!
Matthew 6:31

The set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and you!
Genesis 9:15
Yesterday, I was discouraged about life responsibilities, which lately seem endless! To keep myself from sinking into depression, I kept listening to sermons about the grace of God and how Jesus had paid the cost for my salvation. However, I could see and concentrate on the big picture: I am in Christ Jesus, regardless of what I’m feeling or how things look. My discouragement does not measure God’s promises!
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us!
2 Corinthians 1:20
While performing my shopping chores, I went into Costco to pick up items for Tuesday’s dinner with my grandchildren. Reaching the dairy section, I see an elderly lady in a mobility chair opening the freezer door; she looks to be reaching for the butter. I approached her, asking her, “Can I get that for you?” she said, “Yes,” and upon handing her the butter, she said, with a smile, “Thank you for helping this old lady,” I said, “It is my pleasure!” She said, “I am 103 years old,” I repeated, “The pleasure is all mine, and I thank God for allowing me to meet you!” As I lifted my hands in praise.
With long life, I will satisfy him and show him My salvation!
Psalm 91:16
We introduced ourselves before we parted; I kept looking at her as I walked away. Then I realized this lady was shopping by herself! Amazing! She’s 103 years old! The more I thought about her. I thought about how she has survived the civil rights movement with all its concerns and inequities. She grew up during the era when women were given the right to vote, another time of change she endured. So, not only did she develop in a time where the color of her skin discredited her, but her gender gave her no honor either! But there she was, shopping by herself at Costco in 2024, teaching me a lesson through her existence! With long life will I satisfy!
As I drove home, taking in the lesson and blessing the Lord allowed me to experience, the words of Jesus came up from my spirit: “Is not your life more than food and the body more than clothing?” The discouragement of the earlier day melted into the grace and love the Lord Jesus has for me. Indeed, my financial commitments are not greater than Him, who knows all about me.
Therefore, do not worry, but seek God’s kingdom and righteousness first!
Matthew 6:31-33
Jesus is our Righteousness! Seek Him!
1 Corinthians 1:30
Don’t know Jesus? He is a prayer away!
Pray,
Lord Jesus, thank you for loving and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord and Savior, now and forever. I believe that Father God raised You from the dead and that You are alive today at the right hand of God. Because of Your finished work, I am now a beloved child of God, and heaven is my home. Thank You for giving me eternal life and filling my heart with peace and joy!
Amen
