Set your mind on things above!

Colossians 3:2

As a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20), you are a child of God! The sovereign leadership of Father God, the creator of heaven and earth, provides our provision. Our Lord and Savior Jesus admonishes us not to worry about our lives, Matthew 6:25-34. Yesterday, while working in my yard, my neighbor came out of her house visibly upset. Upon my speaking to her, she said, “Did you hear the bad news?” I said, “What bad news?” she said, “President Biden has stepped down!” I asked her, “Who is replacing him?” she said, “I don’t know! But if Trump gets in there, it is the end of democracy!” I said, “I Don’t believe one man will end democracy,” she said, “Nobody is doing anything to stop him! And if he gets to be president for four more years, it will end the world as we know it!”

The end of All Need is in Jesus Christ!

 My neighbor doesn’t know the Lord Jesus Christ! Her Salvation is in the systems of men. Politics! She doesn’t know God wants her to be a citizen of heaven, 1 Timothy 2:4, where He will take care of her every need! Not the might of her thinking! After that brief conversation, I returned to cleaning my yard, but my thoughts stayed on my frustrated neighbor. How can someone believe that one man, who is not the Lord Jesus Christ, end the world? But not knowing God is a reality of fear and chance where the best intentions of men rest! 

But God!

It has not given man a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

Who Are You Serving, Citizen of Heaven?

Jesus warns us that we cannot serve two masters and that we will love one and hate the other, being loyal to one and despising the other. Suffice it to say what we fear: we serve by default. You cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). To depend on me and make flesh a power source is a curse (Jeremiah 17:5). Politics, in this context, appears to be a type of arm for my elderly neighbor until the next presidential election!

Citizen of Heaven, Child of God Heaven is our Standard!

As citizens of heaven and children of the Most High, we wait on the Lord Jesus Christ and not the elections of politicians who make false promises. Men don’t rule! God does! The Lord says to pray for all men and for them who are in authority so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Whatever your concern or care, cast them all upon Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7)!

Don’t know Jesus? He is a prayer away!

Pray,

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord and Savior, now and forever. I believe that Father God raised You from the dead and that You are alive today at the right hand of God. Because of Your finished work, I am now a beloved child of God, and heaven is my home. Thank You for giving me eternal life and filling my heart with peace and joy!
