Child of God!
Is it a Christian phrase? Or a familial term speaking of our position with Father God, the creator of heaven and earth? The expression child of God denotes a family relationship. For all who believe in Jesus Christ are children of God, Galatians 3:26.
Seated in Majesty!
The position of a child of God isn’t a faint or weak posture but of strength and substance hardly explored by those who sit in the role of a child of the Highest King. Because that whose Jesus is and we beloved are seated in Him, Ephesians 1:20. How is it we overlook being seated at God’s right hand? And what does it mean? To see that, we must look at Jesus.
Jesus Never Hurried, Always Deliberate in Action
In Matthew 23, Jesus tells His opposers the truth. He was conscientious of the temporary hang-ups concerning people when He instructed Peter to pay the temple tax. Was He uncomfortable? Scripture doesn’t say so, and what God doesn’t say, I can add no creative liberties to express a point of the manward side of Christ Jesus.
Jesus Paid What He Did Not Owe
In Matthew 17:24-27, when Jesus and the disciples arrived at Capernaum, they were greeted by those who received the temple taxes. Inquiring Peter, “Does your teacher not pay the temple tax?” The temple administrators so carried away with collecting a temporary tax missed the eternal. Peter said, “Yes” to the question. Jesus didn’t scold Peter, knowing all things asked Peter, “What do you think?” from whom do the kings of the earth take customs and taxes from their sons or strangers? Peter answered, “from strangers.” Jesus said, then the sons are free. Nevertheless, lest we offend them, He gives Peter instructions to pay the taxes.
Jesus Called a Little child to Him
The best living example of how to handle an offense is Jesus. He wasn’t too high and mighty to consider the lowly thoughts of man and turned it into a teaching moment for the disciples. Following the incident of paying the temple taxes, the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” How did Jesus respond? He called a little child to Him, Matthew 18:1-3.
The Kingdom of God Belongs to the Child of God
Is the kingdom of heaven a place or a state? According to Romans 14:17, it appears to be a state, for the kingdom of heaven is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. With the child in the midst, Jesus confidently said, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Fruit of the Kingdom of God
The kingdom of God has fruit; you know fruit grows as it is attached to the vine, and the vine is Jesus, John 15:1, 5. The child of God has the fruit abiding in them, now they may not know or understand what belongs to them, but that doesn’t make it any less theirs.
Child of God
Let’s walk in joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and finally, self-control, Galatians 5:22, but remember walking in these ways requires connection to the vine, Jesus Christ. God isn’t looking for you, beloved to possess these qualities apart from His Son. Otherwise, He would’ve needed to send Him.
Beloved,
As a child of God, we are never independent of our Father, I pray you walk in all the Father has for you.
In Jesus name
