Beholding Jesus!

Puts you above circumstances!

Father God has given us direction for every challenging situation in our lives, and that way is Jesus! In the quietness of early morning prayer, I was reminded of Jesus walking on the water in Matthew 14:22-33, a few things spoke to me about this event, Jesus showed up for the disciples walking on the condition that was causing their fear.

Seeing Miracles Don’t Change Men!

Jesus’ walking on the water is recorded in the Gospels of Mark and John and the Book of Matthew. Each occurrence described only in the book of Matthew is recorded of Peter walking on the water to go to Jesus. When you read each event, you can ascertain it’s the same experience documented by different disciples following the miracle of feeding the 5,000.

Observing Miracles Don’t Save Man!

What I pondered upon is for all to have been a part of the feeding of the five thousand; how is it their heart was hardened that they didn’t understand the miracle? Mark 6:52. The Book of Matthew and John don’t speak of the hardened heart but describes the behavior, “They cried for fear” (Matthew 14:26), and their mental state is described as “They were afraid” (John 6:19). Is crying and fearfulness an act of a hard heart? It appears so according to the gospel accounts of this event.

Remember:

Judas saw Jesus perform many miracles but betrayed Him and then hung himself!

Matthew 27:3-10.

Fellowship with Jesus will Bring You to Your Destiny!

The Disciple Johns’ version of this event is my favorite; why? Because he speaks about them being afraid due to the excellent wind blowing, and Jesus said, “It is I, do not be afraid.” Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the ship was at the land where they were going (John 6:19-21). The close fellowship of Jesus in their vessel expedited the arrival at their destination, the same as when we receive Him as Lord.

The Beholding Power of Yeshua!

As Peter beheld Jesus, he walked on the circumstances and conditions that intimidated him, but when he observed the environment, he began to sink. Much like us, challenges come and appear to bring a force, and briefly, we forget that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Behold Jesus and Hear Him!

This same Jesus is all we need to behold in the fourth watch of our trials and challenges. All we must do is cry to Him and embrace His words,” Be of good cheer! It is I, do not be afraid.”

Beloved,

God loves you!

Jesus is Lord. Behold Him!
