All Friends Are Not Equal: But Necessary!
Theirs the one’s that you talk with throughout the day and the ones you see from time to time. Theirs the one’s that you participate in every milestone with them. The wedding invitation to witness the vows of a lifetime. Moved to tears by the depth of emotions expressed in so few words, a soft prayer of may their love last a lifetime, I utter to God! Then there are the ones that tell you about the celebratory events that happen in their lives, but you still share their joy. Then theirs the one’s that say “Hey, I’m just about you” by text!
Nevertheless, they all serve a significant position in your life. They are tools for Father God to minister into your life. The text that comes in a moment of discouragement lifting your thoughts. You smile because the reflection of you live inside of your friend’s mind.
The Bible has much to say about friends. A friend loves at all times (Prov. 17:17), as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another (Prov. 27:17). Walk with the wise and become wise (Prov. 13:20). The importance of relationships isn’t taught in secondary or primary school but should be. Relationships set the course of our lives. The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray (Prov. 12:26). Jesus says, in John 15:15 I call you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. The Son of God calls me a friend. It would behoove one to study Jesus to observe God’s love in demonstration. So walk with Jesus and be wise and love as He is love. Call Him throughout the day. He knows everything about everyone, and besides, you’re talking to divinity—a conversation with the heavenly. Imagine that it’s a conversation outside of time. Take your concerns to Him. Not just because He is the Lord, but He is your friend. That sticks closer than a brother (Prov. 18:24). God starts to work on your behalf, rest in Jesus!
